Darien Lake’s Moto Coaster & A-Verdi
When you’re racing down the first drop of the Moto Coaster at Darien Lake, wind in your hair and lunch in your throat, you’re probably not thinking about how the attraction was built. For those of you who don’t know what it is, the Moto Coaster is a roller coaster thrill ride where instead of the normal cars found on similar attractions, you are strapped into a motorcycle seat meaning your nearly standing upright for the entire ride. This was one of the first of its kind to be built in Upstate New York back in 2008 and has been a fan favorite at the park ever since.
With thousands upon thousands of pieces and parts, putting a roller coaster together is not a simple one day job. That means that important equipment must be stored on-site for months at a time before it is ready to take its place in the final project. Keeping these parts out in the rain, sitting on the ground, would cause them to wear and rust quicker than if they were in place on the coaster. This is extremely important when it comes to projects like these as rust in the wrong spot could mean the difference between a fun afternoon at the amusement park and a horrific nightmare in which you are stuck at the top of a roller coaster.
When faced with the problem of how to store some of the more important parts of the coaster, Zamperla, the amusement ride manufacturer working on the project, reached out to us here at A-Verdi for one of our ground level storage containers. They needed a storage space that would protect the equipment from the weather, thieves and vandals while being able to fit on the already cramped job site. We were able to provide them with a custom 10 foot container that was perfect for their limited space. All of our containers are weather tight and have four vent systems to insure that moisture and never make it inside, keeping your important parts from reducing to a pile of rust. Every shipping container can also come equipped with a lockbox that prevents vandals or thieves from using bolt cutters to chop off your pad lock and enter your container.
A-Verdi Storage Containers have proven time and time again that they have many different uses. They are able to keep your prized possessions safe from both theft and the weather. We are always happy to work with each and every one of our customers to find the best solution to their storage needs, even if sometimes that means building a custom container. If you have any upcoming storage needs, give us a call at 1-800-248-3734 and we can find the solution for you.
